About This Project
Kingsford is a unique multicultural Asian food town. In the post-COVID period and amid city development, the town features vacant shops and construction areas. As an annual event, K POP could revive the area with vibrant Asian POP art. It could involve the local community, students, and overseas artists. Asian pop graphics and physical art would decorate the walls, benches, and bins. Pop-up shops could sell products or host workshops. The event offers a sensory experience: taste, smell, listen, see, and touch in Kingsford.
Tagline: K POP

K’ is from Kingsford and Kensington.
Kensington plays a critical role in Kingsford rebranding project since Kensington has NSW UNI and NIDA.

‘POP’ is from POP culture, POP up shops, and POP arts.
‘POP’ is from energetic, good vibes, emergence, sudden happening, big or small surprises, open a box or bottle.
‘K POP’ creates Kingsford as a fun, lively Asian pop culture place.
